But it IS an eclipse. The new moon phase happens when the moon and the sun have the same ecliptic longitude. Unlike the solar eclipse where the smaller moon is between sund and earth and thus is only visible in certain areas of the world, the lunar eclipse is when earth is between moon and sun making it occur everywhere in the world. The sun cant shine on the moon and so there is no (not enough) sunlight reflection from the moon surface making the moon invisible during the night for the naked eye.

you seem to still not understand a thing about eclipses and thats just sad. again: solar eclipse = moon is between earth and sun blocking some part of the sunlight, lunar eclipse = earth is between sun and moon blocking most of the sunlight, so there is not much light reflecting making the moon almost invisible for the naked eye. that is all i have to say to that. just invest some time learning about how things work instead of bothering me

No, a lunar eclipse is when the moon passes through the Earth's shadow and becomes red. A new moon is when the moon is on the "daytime side" of the Earth, so you don't see it because it comes out in the daytime when it's too bright to see anything other than the sun.

They are exact opposite things. In the middle of the night, a new moon is literally under your feet. But in a lunar eclipse, the moon is overhead, because the Earth's shadow is always on the "nighttime side" of the Earth. That's why lunar eclipses can only happen during a full moon.
